Some people find that their appetite decreases significantly as they age. You may be on a low sodium diet and this may not be for you. Maybe you don't feel like eating three big meals a day.

Eating tips Try the following tips to increase the calorie intake every day and make your meals more pleasant:

  • Eat smaller meals and more snacks during the day instead of grandiose meals.
  • Keep high calories and snacks ready in the kitchen, such as nuts, cheese, and fruit bowls.
  • Beat the whole dairy instead of skimming if you have the opportunity. Include high fatty food like avocado and peanut butter in your diet.
  • ‌ Savory dishes with cheese. ‌Eat with friends if possible. This can result in a more enjoyable experience you have been looking forward to.
  • ‌If you smoke, avoid doing it before meals as it may decrease your appetite. ‌Consider ordering from a meal delivery service. You can often customize meals to suit your nutritional needs, and there is little or no cooking. ‌Have frozen canned fruits and vegetables on hand. They are easy to prepare and nutritious to make.
